The Family Christmas Tree

Today is August 3rd, 2016 and we are finally getting rid of the Christmas tree.  In one of the slowest series of events, the Rhodes family proceeded in the following manner:

December 12, 2015 - Christmas tree purchased at the tree lot on Topanga Canyon Blvd near the old Macy's store.  The tree is brought home, decorated appropriately, celebrated around, and very much enjoyed.

February 9, 2016 - After several months of stalling, hemming & hawing, the Christmas tree is removed from the residence proper and installed in the front yard.

June 4, 2016 - Nick Rhodes, the youngest of our brood, makes a starting discovery, "Oh, I didn't realize the Christmas tree was still in our front yard."

July 14, 2016 - William Rhodes asks Father, "Where is the saw?  Mom wants me to cut up the Christmas tree and put it into the recycling bin."  Father provides saw, Father demonstrates the saw, tree is placed inside of the green recycling bin.

August 3, 2016 - The green trash bin is wheeled to the curb, the tree is finally gone.

Not sure what this says about the Rhodes family, but the whole stupid story brings a slight smile to my face.  It still amazes me that nobody realized there was a brown Christmas Tree in our front yard until nearly June.  Either we have bigger things to worry about or we just aren't very observant.
Our sad, sad tree on August 3, 2016.
